Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated
Senior Auditor and/or Audit Senior
to join our client in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day activities of audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
You will be responsible for ensuring audit objectives are met, providing recommendations to clients, and contributing to the development of both team members and firm initiatives.
Compensation: Our client offers a competitive compensation package starting at
$85,000
and up, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.
Key Responsibilities: Execute audit engagement activities, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Review audit procedures performed by staff to ensure objectives are achieved in a timely and professional manner. Prepare reports and communicate findings and recommendations to clients' management teams. Conduct technical research to resolve discrepancies and address technical issues, sharing insights with managers and partners. Build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively addressing audit needs and identifying opportunities for improvement or additional services. Participate in in-house training, leadership, and advanced continuing education sessions. Assist with recruiting events, intern selection, and providing feedback and training for new team members. Plan and organize projects and budgets, ensuring deadlines and engagement progress are met efficiently. Meet monthly and annual charge hour goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent field. Certification:
Active CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant audit experience. Experience with ERISA audits and audits under Uniform Guidance is a plus but not required. Availability:
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 55+ hours per week during busy seasons. Intermediate knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP) and assurance standards (GAAS). Familiarity with accounting and auditing software such as CCH ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, ProStaff, and Teammate Analytics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to handle changing industry regulations, manage multiple deadlines, and address internal control concerns. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
