We are looking a self-driven Solution Architect that will serve as a technical leader for the Business Intelligence unit . This position will work independently with oversight from BI Leadership to seek out modernization opportunities for data ingestion processes, cloud architecture, and advanced analytics Job Description: • Responsible for leading the design and support of enterprise wide business intelligence applications and architecture. • Develop and evaluate application or architecture alternatives that solve the needs of the business area or agency, including API, data lake, and cloud architectures. • Study, develop, recommend, and support business intelligence development tools, standards, policies and procedures, and methodologies. • Works with enterprise wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. • Solves complex technical problems. • Creates testing methodology and criteria for a modernized analytics platform. • Develops standards, policies, and procedures for the form, structure, and attributes of the modernized business intelligence tools and systems. • Researches new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise wide business intelligence solutions. • Leads technical team to develop proof of concepts for modernized architecture • Ability to communicate directly with IT senior management and program area stakeholders to review information about new or changed business intelligence tools, potential new technical advances, and impact on program areas. Expectation is to be able to independently create and facilitate presentations, including fielding questions. • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 7 to 10 years of experience with large and complex database management systems, business intelligence tools and systems. Must Have: Demonstrated experience in the design and utilization of performance measures and reports to manage inventory, analyze cost, and maximize return on investment of monetary and human resources. Expertise in implementation of large and complicated models and processes in extensive, multi-function education and government environments. Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures including test/use cases. Experience with Azure Data Warehouse, AWS RedShift, GCF Big Query, Cloudera/Horton Works, IBM Netezza, or SAP Analytics Cloud Physical and Logical Data Architecture Analysis and Design. Experience in data warehouse design and development. Experience leading database design reviews and enforcing standards. Familiarity and knowledge with best practices in information architecture Knowledge of Kimball data warehouse design principals. Experience with big data techniques and advanced analytics platforms (Hadoop, etc.). Nice to Have: Experience in extract, transform, and load coding using Informatica.
