The Systems Engineer is the technical lead for an infrastructure project of the NATO AGS program spanning design, development, installation, and testing. Responsibilities include the following: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Develops and maintains close working relationships with other organizations within the company, international partners, and the customer to develop and deliver highly integrated project plans and tasks. Works collaboratively with the customer and technical staff on identifying and meeting milestones, assisting with schedule development, drafting correspondence, and drafting technical reports. Works with subcontractors to maintain cost and schedule milestones while meeting program requirements. Drives adherence to processes and procedures during the execution of the contract with a focus on first time quality. Leads the installation and integration efforts for the final product delivery. Identifies, communicates, and coordinates technical issues and drives issues to closure. Serves as a signature authority for the responsible tech lead on engineering/technical documentation for release to the customer. Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems. Demonstrates engineering expertise in root cause analysis, resolving technical problems, troubleshooting, and modifying products in accordance with customer requirements. Maintains, prepares, and presents technical data, test reports, studies, metrics, and analysis to management, customers, and sub-contractors. Works under only general direction to determine and develop approaches, courses of action, and solutions. Displays outstanding written and oral communications skills. Displays decision-making and analytical skills vital to being able to identify core issues, develop resolution plans, and follow through to implementation, especially with evolving customer direction. Provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary team that includes sub-contractors to accomplish the delivery of all contractual requirements. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a BS degree; 6 years relevant experience with a STEM MS degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a STEM PhD degree. US Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance. Ability to travel for extended periods, as required, to testing locations which may include Palmdale, CA, Sierra Vista, AZ, San Diego, CA, and Sigonella, Italy. Experience with the operation, integration, configuration, and maintenance of fielded systems. Preferred Qualifications:
Technical knowledge of Data Centers (COTS), networks, and RF installations. Experience in laboratory integration and check-out. Experience working with international customers on DCS or FMS contracts. Salary Range:
$118,600 - $206,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
