George Fox University announces a principal faculty position in the College of Medical Science Physician Assistant (PA) Program to begin during the 2024/25 Academic Year. The principal faculty member supports the overall development and delivery of education in the PA program.
About the Job: The Associate Program Director supports the Program Director in effective leadership and management in the PA program. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Management Duties
Participating in and leading program organization and administration. Participating in and leading accreditation activities with the Program Director. Co-leading the planning and development of the program with the Program Director. At the direction of the Program Director, coordinating the PA program faculty and staff. Coordinating, leading, and participating in faculty mentoring. Overseeing the program's ongoing self-improvement including curricular revisions.
Program Duties
Developing, reviewing, and revising as necessary the program mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program. Participating in development, planning, and continuous program evaluation (review and analysis). Participating in accreditation activities. Participating in faculty development and coordination of activity. Participating in student recruitment and selection. Participating in clinical site development, retention, and ongoing monitoring.
General Education Duties
Participating in the PA programs delivery of curriculum (teaching and instruction). Participating in the evaluation of student performance. Providing remedial instruction when needed. Participating in curriculum development, ongoing evaluation, and coordination of instruction. As necessary, providing academic counseling.
Other Duties
If desired, participate in clinical practice, scholarly activities, or advanced education. Additional duties as needed and assigned by the Program Director.
Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people. Other duties as assigned.
We're looking for candidates who have: A master's degree or higher. A minimum of 3 years of experience as faculty in a PA program or Medical School. A minimum 3 years of clinical experience. A current NCCPA certification, if the Associate Program Director is a PA. A current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician and must be certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board, if the Associate Program Director is a physician. A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred. A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
Preference Will be Given to Those Who Have the Following Attributes: Prior experience in PA program leadership.
Salary and rank: Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
