The University of Arizona's College of Fine Arts will be accepting applications for Associate Director of Student Success. The Associate Director will report to the College of Fine Arts' Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. The Associate Director of Student Success will lead and supervise the Student Success team, as well as develop and implement strategies and processes for CFA admissions, recruitment, and retention. In addition, the Associate Director will manage communication with prospective students, ensure that communications and admission processes are in compliance with University of Arizona policies, and assist with college and student engagement events and student awards. Occasional local and out of state travel and weekend/evenings hours may be required. Duties & Responsibilities
Admissions and Enrollment Management: Manage College admission systems (Trellis, Slate, Accept’d), recruitment, and retention through collaboration with UA Admissions, Enrollment Management, Slate, Trellis and Marketing teams. Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise the Student Success team (2-3 full time staff). Direct, mentor and cross train staff in the areas of recruitment and retention, admissions, enrollment, student engagement, and scholarships and awards. Data and Reporting: Manage admissions funnel data, oversee retention plan submission, and provide regular reporting to academic leadership. Ensure that communications and admissions processes, supplemental applications, recruitment print materials and web pages are up to date and in compliance with University policies. Conduct data analysis for recruitment and engagement activities to support strategic decision-making. Student Engagement and Compliance: Ensure student engagement events align with academic objectives and comply with University policies. Supervise the coordination of college events and student awards, such as the Achievement awards and graduation ceremonies. Oversee budget and financial compliance for student engagement activities, including vendor contracts and asset management. Participate in local and regional recruiting activities, as needed. Supervise student workers and interns, and interface with student ambassadors, coordinating their support efforts with the needs of Student Success team. Additional duties as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of university admissions and recruitment procedures. Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Communication Platforms. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups/individuals and to analyze complex situations and respond effectively. Skills in leadership, staff supervision and program management. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, possess a positive attitude, and demonstrates creativity, flexibility, initiative and teamwork. Ability to work with diverse constituencies, and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the admissions process. Physical Requirements This position may involve driving/travel and participation at college and career fairs, with long periods of time attending event booths to distribute information, engage attendees, and perform other related tasks. Ability to lift/move/transport up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience, including 2 years of direct supervisory/managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must be able to travel (locally, regionally and/or nationally) and work some weekends and evenings when necessary to participate at college and career fairs. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University
Fleet Safety Policy .
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field. Experience coordinating programs, preferably related to recruitment, admissions and enrollment. Experience with theories of student development, student success initiatives, and recruitment programs. Experience working with diverse student populations. Experience in a university/higher education setting. Experience using UA software programs, including UAccess. Experience with program development such as marketing, social media, logistics and assessments.
