Position Summary

Anderson School of Management is currently inviting applications for Student Technical Specialists to work with the Anderson Information Technology team. Anderson provides a wide range of IT services to students, faculty, and staff and the Student Technical Specialists are the front line of these services. We provide extensive on-the-job training and great advancement opportunities to support the education and professional development of our student employees. Multiple positions are available and the ideal candidates will be able to work at least 15 hours per week and have availability to work during regular business hours, during the evening, and/or on Saturdays, depending on the need. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Configures, manages and repairs computers, printers, smartphones, and other devices used by ASM faculty, staff and students. Manages computer lab/classroom systems. Plays an integral role at the STSC service desk answering questions, supporting the Anderson mobile initiative, providing front-line troubleshooting and working with the Anderson incident management system Provides in-the-field assistance to users with various computer hardware and software issues. Assists in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies. Provides structured one-on-one and group training on the use of technology at UNM and Anderson.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Exceptional communication and customer service skills. In depth knowledge of Microsoft software and services (including operating systems and productivity software such as Microsoft Office). Knowledge of LAN management techniques (Microsoft's Active Directory experience preferred). Ability to evaluate and solve information technology problems. Ability to provide technical guidance and training. Skill configuring, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer hardware. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment Appropriate office attire required Limited physical effort required (lifting up to 50 lbs) Limited exposure to physical risk Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Enrollment in an UNM degree program with an intention to develop a career in information technology. Preference will be given to current Anderson students.
