Responsibilities:
Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions Manage a pipeline of approximately 100-120 personal injury cases to ensure cases progress seamlessly from inception to settlement/trial Litigate cases for maximum settlement amounts Conduct depositions Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as needed Prepare legal documents Maintain heavy communication with clients, opposing counsel and adjusters Negotiate settlements as needed, outside of mediation and trial Meet monthly established goals and metrics Qualifications:
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills Previous experience advocating for clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration Five years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry Bachelor’s degree with a law degree from an accredited law school (such as an LLM, JSD, or J.D. degree) Member of state and local bar associations in good standing Must have an active NY bar license in good standing At least 5+ years of experience working as an associate attorney Excellent customer service skills Track Record of successful settlements via negotiation, Offers of Settlement, mediation and jury trials Compensation:
$200,000+ based on experience + bonus
