The Department of Philosophy has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv) to join their team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works under the direction of the Undergraduate Advisor on assembling, submitting, and maintaining the quarterly time schedule and curriculum forecast. Coordinate with the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Undergraduate Advisor to distribute and collect schedule and room requests from faculty; complete online time schedule worksheets; submit online and email updates and corrections to the schedule; and resolve scheduling conflicts, room change requests, etc. Contact and work closely with various departments on joint or withered courses. Attend and take notes as needed at the Annual Curriculum Committee meetings. (15%) Order all textbook and desk copies. Order quarterly course evaluations for faculty and graduate students. Prepare quarterly course descriptions, add details to the departmental website, and other curriculum handouts for students. Enter curriculum related information on the department and UW websites. Distribute entry codes on behalf of faculty. Communicate with Classroom Technology and Events about classroom and equipment requests. (5%) Support the Undergraduate Advisor by distributing information and answering general questions. Assist Advisor with student records, data collection, and the undergraduate email distribution list. Maintain all curriculum records. Keep records of syllabi, departmental time schedules, course descriptions, and grades printed from GradePage, and return final exams/papers to students. Arrange for document shredding at appropriate times. (5%) Serve as lead receptionist in main office. Order supplies and maintain orderly supply room. Print and post quarterly office hour lists and add details to the departmental website as needed. Scan book chapters and other materials as needed. (25%) Oversee the production of course materials and department business on the photocopier and troubleshoot photocopier problems. Manage access codes for department photocopier. Maintain, update, and post faculty and employee lists, and departmental building directory. (5%) Oversee conference room scheduling for courses and seminars, departmental meetings, and make-up exams. Reserve departmental equipment for faculty and instructors. (5%) Assist with the organization of Department and Program on Ethics colloquia, conferences and other events, including travel and hotel reservations, as well as, reserving conference rooms or lecture halls to hold talks, review sessions and special events. Create publicity including email announcements and flyers, and submit colloquia and events information to various UW campus events calendars. Post events to the department website calendar. Provide newsletter and general editing support for the Department and Program on Ethics. Participate in and assist with departmental events, such as, the quarterly Open House, end of year Awards Reception and Graduation Reception. (10%) Maintain and update the Department’s website, including the Philosophy Events Calendar, posting of curricular materials and department news articles, and keeping resources for the undergraduate and graduate programs up to date. Communicate with A&S tech personnel when changes to the website are needed that must be implemented at the College level. (10%) Process reimbursements, travel expense reports, and award payments. Maintain an updated bulletin board and faculty book display case. Pick up and distribute mail. Forward mail as appropriate. As requested, collect mail for faculty on extended leave. Submit service requests to Facilities Services as needed. Run errands as required. (20%) Provide support for various assignments as designated by the department chair, curriculum committee, or administrator. As needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
