Swiftwick designs, engineers, and builds performance socks for endurance sports. We are proudly based in Tennessee, manufactured in the USA, and worn the world over. We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing team, where you will oversee accounting, FP&A, and HR functions at the company. The role will report directly to our CEO and work in close partnership with the rest of the leadership team and our external accounting firm.
KEY ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform entire month-end close process and prepare monthly financial statements (including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and monthly/annual comparisons) Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation, in conjunction with AP specialist Complete the company's semi-monthly payroll process Oversee cash flow management for the company, including monitoring and forecasting cash flow and optimizing cash management strategies Oversee 3rd party sales tax system and file state returns as needed, and partner with external accounting firm to complete all year end federal and state tax filings (sales, payroll, business / F&E, etc.) Oversee issuances of W-2s and 1099s to employees and contractors Assist outside auditors with annual audit following a December close by creating support schedules, providing general ledger detail, and ensuring business is compliant with GAAP standards Ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including tax laws, reporting requirements, and investor reporting Help create and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures KEY FINANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasting, long-term financial planning, and financial analysis Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement across the business Oversee our relationships with key financial vendors (e.g., banking institutions, commercial liability insurance carrier, D&O insurance carrier, etc.) KEY HR RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee benefits administration (group benefits and 401(k)) as well as other key HR processes (new hire paperwork, termination processes, workers comp audits, etc.) in conjunction with our external broker Provide recruiting support to the broader team and manage the company's ATS platform Provide support for team event planning and in-office employee experience Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience working in consumer / retail (or other industries manufacturing physical goods), with increasing scope and responsibilities B.S. in accounting (required) with masters in accounting or related field strongly preferred CPA license strongly preferred Extensive experience with Quickbooks and Excel required Experience with payroll platforms required. Prior Paylocity experience ideal Experience with ERP systems required. Prior Acctivate experience ideal Strong combination of strategic, tactical, and leadership skills with a high attention to detail Previous experience managing direct reports a plus Benefits
