The Project Execution Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the execution of IT projects within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. With over 5 years of experience as a Lead Project Manager, the Project Execution Manager will have a solid understanding of business cases, risk management processes, and the ability to manage project budgets effectively. This role requires a professional with proven self-management and team-management skills, the capability to make decisions under pressure, and expert managerial, leadership, and communication skills. An active Secret Clearance is also required.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned. Monitor and control project budgets, providing financial analysis and forecasting to ensure fiscal discipline. Implement and manage risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Make informed decisions under pressure, ensuring the successful progression and completion of projects. Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners, to ensure transparency and alignment. Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within project teams. Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred. 5+ years of experience as a Lead Project Manager. 5+ years of experience in a DoD IT environment. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required. Security Clearance:
Must maintain an active Secret Clearance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A solid understanding of business cases and risk management processes. Proven self-management and team-management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams. Ability to monitor and control project budgets effectively. Strong decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations. Expertise in project management methodologies and tools. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management and staff. Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Work Environment:
This position will be primarily on-site at the Pentagon Reservation, where the Project Execution Manager will work within secure facilities and must comply with all security protocols. The role may require travel to various locations for project coordination and meetings. While the opportunity to work from home may be available, it is not guaranteed and will depend on the specific requirements of the role and managerial discretion. Due to the nature of the work, the role may involve responding to critical issues outside of standard working hours and requires a high degree of responsiveness and commitment. Benefits
