The Requirements Evaluation
& Design (RED) Team Lead is a critical role responsible for guiding a team
dedicated to the assessment and design of IT solutions within a Department of
Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in
information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related
field, with a Master's degree preferred. This position requires over 5 years of
experience as a Lead Project Manager and an extensive background in the DoD IT
sector. The RED Team Lead will have outstanding mathematics and IT abilities,
be proficient in preparing detailed cost estimate reports, and be skilled in
using relevant software tools, including MS Office. This role demands a
professional with proven self-management, team-management, and expert
managerial, leadership, and communication skills. An active Secret Clearance is
also required.
This position is contingent
upon contract award.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the RED team in evaluating project requirements, ensuring that IT solutions meet the strategic objectives of the DoD. Prepare detailed cost estimate reports and analyses to support project decision-making and budgeting. Utilize relevant software tools, including MS Office, to manage project documentation, presentations, and communications. Oversee the design phase of IT projects, ensuring that solutions are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with DoD standards. Develop and implement project management processes and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. Communicate complex IT concepts and project statuses to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clarity and alignment. Mentor and manage team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred. 5+ years of experience as a Lead Project Manager. 5+ years of experience in a DoD IT environment. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required. Security Clearance:
Must possess an active Secret Clearance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding mathematics and IT skills, with a strong analytical mindset. Proficiency in preparing detailed cost estimate reports and utilizing relevant software tools. Proven self-management and team-management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams. Expertise in project management methodologies and tools. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management and staff. Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Work Environment:
This position will be primarily on-site at the Pentagon Reservation, where the RED Team Lead will work within secure facilities and must comply with all security protocols. The role may require travel to various locations for project coordination and meetings. While the opportunity to work from home may be available, it is not guaranteed and will depend on the specific requirements of the role and managerial discretion. Due to the nature of the work, the role may involve responding to critical issues outside of standard working hours and requires a high degree of responsiveness and commitment. Benefits
