Duties and Responsibilities Duties of this position include answering telephones, dispatching officers and university staff to non-emergency and emergency situations, communicates with all units of the university and other law enforcement agencies, records all events into the department computer and reporting software, monitors campus safety cameras in real time, and conducts computer searches in law enforcement databases. This position works at the Lake Shore Campus, and will have to maintain a flexible schedule and work weekends as well as weekdays. The position reports operationally to the Watch Commander and may need to work extended shifts as directed. The position reports administratively as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent and up to one year of data processing experience.

Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred requirement of college coursework related to public safety, law enforcement or criminal justice. Work experience requires one year of data processing, one year in public safety or more than one year in general call center task assignments. - Good telephone etiquette, computer skills and data entry experience. - Must pass an extensive background investigation and drug screening. - Ability to prioritize and remain effective and composed during stressful periods of time. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, and listening skills.
