Senior Accountant Roxbury, MA ONSITE REQUIRED FREE Onsite Parking Available Temporary to Hire $35-41/hour Our education client in Roxbury, MA is seeking a Senior Accountant experienced in Higher Education to join their growing team. This position will oversee complex accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead financial reporting and audit processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required 5+ years full cycle accounting in Higher Education required Expertise in revenue recognition, tracking revenue, generating trial balances and creating financial plan with the Assistant Controller Review and post data in Jenzabar ensuring data integrity Experience with grants management and reporting. Strong project management and expertise working with various departments. Jenzabar experience required Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, general ledger, and sub-ledger accounts, on a regular basis. Manage and monitor restricted funds, grants, and endowment accounts. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the college's annual budget. Generate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements, for internal and external stakeholders. Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership. Lead and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, state regulations, and federal reporting requirements, including those related to grants and financial aid. Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity. Provide guidance and oversight to junior accounting staff and student workers. Collaborate with departments such as Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Procurement to resolve financial discrepancies and streamline operations.
