What You Will Be Doing: In this role, you'll be at the heart of implementing a new Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system that will directly improve patient care and streamline workflows. You'll work closely with clinical staff and IT teams to design solutions that meet the real needs of healthcare providers. By testing and validating the system, you'll ensure it works seamlessly and complies with standards and organizational needs. You'll also help guide the team through the transition by providing training and feedback recommendations to support the smooth adoption of the system.

This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation.

AND Two years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse, one of which must have been as a full-performance/journey level Psychiatric or Corrections Nurse. This latter experience may be met by prior service as a Psychiatric Nurse 2 or Corrections Nurse 2 with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer.

Substitution: Combinations of prior training and experience in other specializations of nursing care (e.g., Med-Surg, Corrections, Public Health, Critical Care) will be evaluated for comparability on a case-by-case basis.

Special Note: Candidates not currently licensed by the State of Alaska, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska and requisite qualifying experience, may apply for vacancies in this job class. Applicants qualifying under this option may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of licensure will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

If selected for the position and prior to hire, the applicant will be asked to: 1. Submit to fingerprinting and background check screening. 2. Provide proof of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap), Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), and Varicella Immunizations. 3. Provide proof of Hepatitis B (immunity or declination statement) 4. Provide annual Influenza vaccination or a signed declination statement. 5. Proof of Tuberculosis screening within the past 12 months. BACKGROUND CHECK The successful candidate must pass a comprehensive background investigation, which includes a state and FBI fingerprint-based background check.
