A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Mid-level Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate should be admitted in CA and possess a balanced skill set encompassing securities/FINRA work and regular professional liability defense cases. Civil litigation experience is a prerequisite, while FINRA experience is advantageous.
Duties:
Handle a diverse caseload involving securities/FINRA matters and regular professional liability defense cases.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and preparation.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex legal matters.
Manage case files, including organizing documents, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in securities, professional liability defense, and civil litigation.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the State Bar of California.
3-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably focusing on securities/FINRA work and professional liability defense.
Proven experience in civil litigation, including courtroom appearances and trial preparation.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Certifications:
Admission to the State Bar of California is required.
Skills:
Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
Excellent drafting skills for legal documents and correspondence.
Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with FINRA regulations and procedures is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
