Our Client is a rapidly growing nearshore staffing firm focused on delivering top talent solutions for clients in legal services, technology, and other specialized industries. Our Client is committed to providing high-quality solutions to industry partners with team members who seek to drive our clients’ success. To support our clients' expanding business growth, we are seeking an experienced Sales Director (Player-Coach) who can both sell directly to legal services providers and law firms while coaching and mentoring a sales team across a diverse region with diverse industry offerings.
Position Overview
Seeking a high-level Sales Director who will serve as a player-coach—a leader who will actively generate and close new business opportunities in legal services while also mentoring, training, and developing the sales team. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record as a hunter, preferably in legal services. This is a unique opportunity to lead by example, directly impacting company revenue while shaping and building a team in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
Ideal candidates should be located within a reasonable distance of a major airport in one of the following states: California, Nevada, or Arizona.
This is a Remote role that would require the candidate to hold a home office. Frequent travel to in-person events and appointments in California and other states is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Sales and Business Development (Player Role):
- Actively prospect, pitch, pursue, and close new business with legal services providers such as records retrieval companies and law firms.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding personal sales targets and contributing directly to the company’s revenue growth.
- Cultivate and grow relationships with key clients in legal services, identifying opportunities for new business, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Represent the company at legal industry events and conferences to expand our client base and build brand recognition.
- Generate leads through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and cold visits to prospective clients’ offices.
- Leverage deep subject matter expertise to identify the right potential clients and to craft messaging and presentations that resonate. - Sales Leadership and Team Development (Coach Role):
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small yet growing team of sales representatives, focusing on coaching them to successfully sell in legal services, technology, and other sectors served by the company.
- Ensure sales representatives meet or exceed their sales targets by conducting performance reviews and providing actionable feedback to enhance team performance.
- Implement and oversee the company’s sales methodology and training programs, reviewing sales representatives’ sales targets and overseeing their lead generation and sales efforts.
- Work seamlessly with the Operations Team to help ensure impeccable delivery and client success.
- Lead hiring efforts to expand the sales team, working with the recruiting division to conduct interviews and recommend top candidates for hire. - Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Work closely with executive leadership to refine and execute the sales strategy for legal services, technology, and other sectors, aligning team goals with company growth objectives.
- For both personal sales activity and the sales team’s activities, ensure diligent documentation and tracking in CRM, including lead generation, calls, meetings, and pipeline.
- Analyze sales data and prepare regular reports for leadership, ensuring that the team is on track to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of trends in the legal, tech, and professional services industries to adjust strategies and better address client needs.
- Flourish in a dynamic environment, including refining sales processes, helping to mold messaging, and bringing in flagship clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of sales experience in a hunter sales role. Experience in a player-coach or management role is a plus, but we will also consider senior sales representatives without management experience.
- Preferred but not mandatory: Experience in sales for legal services providers, preferably providers whose services include records retrieval.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, both individually and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of sales professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in CRM systems, data analysis, and sales reporting tools.
