The Children & Family Advocacy Center (CFAC) in Little Flock, AR, is dedicated to empowering individuals and families impacted by trauma by providing comprehensive services in a supportive and trauma-informed environment. Our team works together to provide advocacy, mental health counseling, forensic interviewing, medical exams, and residential programming for women and children. We also have a full administrative team who oversees Operations, Development, and Community Relations.

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening our community impact, we are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Community Relations team. This role is essential to the success of our programs and offers the right candidate the opportunity to help build and sustain a strong network of volunteers who are vital to delivering our services.

As Volunteer Coordinator you will be a connector-matching the needs of our organization with the talents and passions of our volunteers. In most cases, you will be the volunteer's first point of contact at the Children & Family Advocacy Center. Your efforts will help shape a positive, engaged volunteer experience and increase our capacity to provide vital services to women and children impacted by trauma.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Outreach Develop and execute effective volunteer recruitment strategies, using a variety of outreach methods and working closely with our Marketing Specialist to attract diverse volunteers who align with our mission.
  • Training & Onboarding Lead the development of engaging and informative orientation programs for new volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared and enthusiastic about their roles and responsibilities.
  • Volunteer Engagement & Support Provide ongoing guidance, support, and check-ins for volunteers to ensure their success and retention. Foster a positive and inclusive environment where volunteers feel appreciated and empowered.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork Work closely with staff across departments to ensure the effective integration of volunteers into all aspects of CFAC programming, fostering a strong team-oriented culture.
  • Project Coordination Work with CFAC staff and Project Managers to schedule and assign volunteers to various programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment between volunteer skills and project needs.
  • Recognition & Celebration Implement programs and events to recognize and celebrate the contributions of our volunteers, building a strong community and keeping volunteers engaged and motivated.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting Utilize volunteer management software (Bloomerang Volunteer) to track volunteer hours, activities, and impact. Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders to highlight volunteer engagement and program outcomes.
  • Community Outreach Represent the CFAC at community events to promote volunteer opportunities, build relationships with potential partners, and increase community awareness of our work.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, Communications, Business, or related field. Certification or experience in volunteer management is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience coordinating volunteers or managing people, with an understanding of best practices in volunteer engagement.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to engage and motivate diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with volunteer management software (Bloomerang Volunteer) is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and the mission of the CFAC. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
