Chief Security Officer

Aon is seeking a Chief Security Officer (CSO) who is responsible for overseeing the company’s security programs and managing overall risk. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic security program for Aon, managing the security of our physical and digital assets, and managing overall risk in our environment. As CSO, you will oversee the security of colleagues, physical company assets, and all records of information. This leader also will manage security risk assessments and supervise incident investigations.

The successful candidate should have a demonstrated record of fostering a culture of physical and cyber security awareness that drives behavioral changes within the company. The CSO will have excellent analytical skills and the ability to minimize risk to ensure the physical safety and integrity of personnel and company information.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Build a comprehensive security program that includes physical safety and cybersecurity policies.
  2. Review existing security measures and update protocol as needed.
  3. Oversee the daily operations of the company to identify potential security risks and areas for improvement.
  4. Foster a culture of physical and digital security awareness by conducting training sessions and communicating with personnel.
  5. Manage, evaluate, and resolve any physical or digital security incidents or breaches.
  6. Ensure that the company’s security policies comply with federal laws and legislations.
  7. Present risk assessments and improved security policies to management team members.
  8. Work with management to develop and implement an appropriate budget for security programs.

Requirements:

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change, experience in protecting digital environments, and managing overall risk.
  2. Deep understanding of risk trends and macroeconomic factors.
  3. Future focus to lay out the vision and plan to proactively mitigate and protect against risk of any nature.
  4. Experience working in a heavily matrixed environment, strong collaboration, relationship-building and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders across multiple solutions and geographies.
  5. Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  6. Demonstrated track record for building inclusive and diverse teams; fosters an environment in which all employees are valued and heard.
  7. Motivates and inspires others, creating an environment for continuous learning and connection.
  8. 10 years’ experience working in a matrixed, global organization.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred, or equivalent years of industry experience.
