Designer I - DFG Calvin Klein
The Designer 1 position is a key role in the design and development of product from building initial concept to completion of development. This includes having the understanding of numerous design aesthetics and supplying viable designs to the necessary brands.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Takes direction from Senior Designer & VP of Design and expands on direction/inspiration. It is important that the designer have a voice and vision of their own.
Takes trend and market research and works innovative designs into brand appropriate styles
Analyzes past best sellers and worst sellers for future development
Reviews SKU plans to formulate needed design work for upcoming season.
Creates viable brand appropriate designs through CAD
Reviews pattern work with the Raw Materials team
In charge of sample check in as well as working with the appropriate groups to resolve any issues pertaining to samples
Develops new trims and buttons
Uses Illustrator/Photoshop to create art work for trim development
Guides the Assistant Designer on the design and vision of presentation boards
Reviews all H/E, Lab Dips and H/L NYO approval
Coordinates and prepares new development hand off with the Tech and Design team
Participates in seasonal trend presentation through the use of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Help to create Seasonal Concept Rooms for Seasonal Turning point meetings
Other related job functions are at the discretion of the manager as needed
Participates as necessary in model set up
Attend all fittings
Coordinating of correct info to PD for line list set up as necessary
Travels to shop the market when applicable, as well as present product to key retailers
Make & present compelling product presentations to Sales and Cross Functional Teams as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 4 to 5 years related experience required
Education: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
Skills: Creative and Driven, InDesign, Dobby Pro, Photo Shop, Illustrator, Excel
DECISION MAKING:
Independent decision maker, with ultimate decisions made by the Design Lead and or the SVP of Design. Daily decisions related to color, fabric, trim and sample check in will be reviewed and or made by the associate and elevated as necessary.
RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:
Highly creative in design to provide the appropriate amount of newness to drive sales.
Ability to handle multiple seasons & multiple Brands at one time within established deadlines
Must have a good color sense and the ability to put together core color palettes for development
Detail oriented with good observation traits is necessary.

Fast- paced, Creative, time sensitive and deadline driven Design Studio

Pay Range:$77,800 - $100,000
PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
