The Payroll Director will oversee semi-monthly payroll processing for a growing, multi-state, and global organization. This role is pivotal in managing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and acting as a key liaison for employees regarding payroll-related concerns. With responsibilities ranging from new hire setups to global payroll coordination, the Payroll Director will also lead process improvement initiatives and manage third-party payroll vendors. Salary Range:
$180,000-$200,000 annually, plus bonus and equity package.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of payroll processing for a multi-state and global workforce, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Interpret and enforce compliance with company pay policies and regulatory requirements, including taxation of equity-based awards.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee payroll questions and resolve concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies, implementing solutions and best practices to improve processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on payroll-related matters, including policy updates and financial reporting.
- Evaluate and refine payroll policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards and align with best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships, including payroll software providers and benefits administrators.
- Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports to ensure accuracy and data integrity for audits and internal reviews.
- Supervise and develop a team of payroll analysts, fostering growth and maintaining high performance.
- Support system implementations, including ERP and payroll system upgrades, to enhance operational efficiency.
- Extensive experience managing payroll for 500+ employees in a multi-state environment, including processing complex payroll functions.
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll compliance, reporting, and regulatory standards in both domestic and international contexts.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- ERP implementation experience preferred.
