The IT Systems Admin I will:
Provide basic to advanced technical assistance to all Health Care Authority (HCA) Information Technology Department (ITD) staff and all HCA customers, contractors, partners, and key stakeholders; Work in a help desk/network environment and handles escalated help desk tickets, both working alone and as a member of a team and; Receive issue assignments both via a ticketing system and directly from supervisors. The focus of this position is to deal with the more complex and difficult help desk tickets that are reported. How does it get done?
The IT Systems Admin I ensures that all aspects of the computing environment are kept up-to-date and facilitates the upgrading of systems and devices as needed to ensure everything is as current as possible, while still meeting the functional computing needs of the department.
The IT Systems Admin I is responsible for:
Overseeing all aspects of the computing environment to ensure maximum uptime and overall system functionality; Collaborating with network administration, help desk, and security personnel to provide any computing functionality required for the operations of the division and the department; Working with senior systems administrators to determine the best solutions to meet the computing needs of the department and; Assisting with different aspects of on-premise, virtual, and cloud environments. Health Care Authority (HCA) employees and contracted staff. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
Prior help desk and/or networking experience. Knowledge of an ITSM tool.
Minimum Qualification
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end user support, systems administration, network administration or any related field. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
