Global Category Director, External Manufacturing, Liquids & Creams Location:

Kenvue’s corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025. Travel:

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $119,000 to $205,850. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors. What will you do The Category Senior Manager is responsible for: Driving the development of category practices for selected sub-categories, including sourcing strategy deployment, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement’s value contribution while achieving compliance with policies, strategies and processes. Developing robust category strategies, aligned with regions and key stakeholders in External Manufacturing Make, Planning, Network teams Quality, etc. Striving to meet the mutually agreed Procurement targets contributing to the overall budgeting targets. In addition to the elements mentioned above the Category Manager is accountable to define and achieve clear targets in conjunction with his/her Procurement regional counterparts and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Defines category strategies for global category: Analyzes category and defines category profile, including risk assessment, supply base assessment and supplier relationship management strategy. Benchmarks category practices to identify improvement initiatives. Builds category specific strategic plan in alignment with the regions/countries and aligns strategic plan to financial budget and global business strategies in alignment with global Category Manager and business stakeholders. Initiates internal and external analysis (industry and supplier). Consolidates requirements, acting as a business partner for business/other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specification with the business/other functions. Is accountable for efficient alignment enablement/activation of negotiation outcomes by increasing the level of automated content within the category, instructing on new content updates and by providing clear instructions about the category strategy to enable compliance. Leads complex cross functional programs, such as: Global benchmarking assessments. Supplier development activities in order to improve performance and further cost/demand reductions. Identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and renegotiations. Supplier scouting, selection and development. Development of cost models. Manages relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives: Acts as escalation point for category related issues and drives resolution in line with global Procurement policies. Achieves “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives. Maintains close relationships with Network team, R&D, Regional Make teams (where needed), etc. Collaborates and aligns with global/regional/local procurement teams as applicable. Is a business partner to the regional procurement teams to create and outline contribution for budget improvement. Supports resource allocation between global and regional/local category initiatives. Qualifications What we are looking for Required Qualifications: Academic background: Appropriate University/Bachelor’s degree qualification is essential; a recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset. At least 8-10 years of procurement experience is required. Minimum 2-3 years of extensive experience in external manufacturing categories, either in procurement or in operations. Should have experience with site transfers and cost modelling for External Manufacturing/CMOs. Language skills: Proficiency in English is essential.
