We are seeking a
Managing Director of Trust and Estates
in the Family Trust Company Group. This position will use expertise and experience in high-net-worth estate planning, gift & generation skipping tax planning, trust administration, family trust company administration, and tax compliance services for family trust companies, trustees, families, and their closely held businesses.
This position offers remote work with in-office on an as-needed basis plus on-site client meetings.
In this position you will:
Work with the family trust company ("FTC") team to provide FTC and multi-generational clients with governance support and ongoing trust administration services or consulting including, but not limited to, the following services: FTC Board meeting preparation of agendas, board materials and meeting minutes Assisting in the customization of FTC Policy & Procedure Manual Documenting FTC Committee meeting minutes Oversee completion and accuracy of trust administration documentation Review trust documents to complete flowcharts and synopsis of trust terms Review and analyze estate, trust and fiduciary related documents to provide observations, make planning recommendations, and document key provisions. Prepare client presentations on current and proposed estate planning strategies including the design and structure of FTCs. Participate in client meetings to explain proposed estate and tax planning strategies. Provide thought leadership articles to be shared with Clearstead clients on estate planning topics. Participate in business development opportunities by networking and identifying opportunities for family trust companies or planning clients. Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, taxation, finance, or related field JD designation required. 5+ years of relevant experience working for a law, accounting, or advisory firm specifically within this practice area. Proven experience working with multigenerational families providing estate planning, generation skipping transfer tax, and gift tax consulting. Knowledge of fiduciary accounting principles a plus. Attention to details and related deadlines imperative. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications required. Ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships. Demonstrate polished written and verbal communication. Strong team player with a commitment to company values.
