GROUNDSKEEPER

Position Summary

The Groundskeeper will ensure that the general cleanliness of the parking lots, grounds, and other miscellaneous work as assigned is completed on a timely basis during the worker's work shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cleans the parking lot, parking garage, and sidewalks of property.

Cleans the amphitheater and all exterior areas of the resort and casino.

Empties all trash cans around the exterior areas of the resort and casino.

Uses power washing equipment on all outside areas of the resort and casino.

Uses a parking lot/parking garage sweeper to clean parking areas, sidewalks, etc.

Picks up trash and debris in all exterior areas of the resort and casino.

Uses power blower for outside clean-up of rocks, sidewalks, and parking areas.

Operates drain cleaning equipment (Ditch Witch), when needed.

Reports equipment repair requirements to Public Area Supervisor or Groundskeeper Lead.

On call for inclement weather conditions - use of ice melt equipment to spread ice melt.

Complies with Public Area/Housekeeping Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Cleans up any kind of automotive liquid spill utilizing the proper clean-up procedure

and equipment.

Maintains and takes care of the main casino fountain and the Spa fountain.

Wears all PPE equipment when performing tasks assigned.

Notifies direct Supervisor or Lead of any maintenance or hazardous issues found when

performing their job duties, regardless of shift.

Signs out all keys required and turns them in at end of shift .

Attends and completes all required departmental training to include; Equipment Safety, and Chemical

Safety.

Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned scheduled each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.

Performs other duties as required.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to operate parking lot sweepers.

Ability to use cleaning and other work tools.

Ability to work power tools associated with work requirements safely.

Must be able to retain and apply information learned during departmental training sessions, to include proper equipment handling, operating company vehicles, as well as various safety rules and requirements.

Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Required:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

No experience is required, training will be provided.

Preferred:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience in horticulture, building maintenance, custodial and/or yard maintenance.

License/Certifications/Registrations

Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico driver's license.

Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.

Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Lifting

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

Pulling

Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Pushing

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.

Walking

Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.

Sitting

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Standing

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Talking

Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

List Working Conditions Required:

The worker is subject to:

Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.

Noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.

Vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.

Hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
