Position: Human Resources Manager
Report To: Vice President Human Resources
Status: Exempt
Work Location: This is an onsite position. Occasional remote work may be available for select positions and is subject to prior approval by management.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s business goals, and fostering a positive work environment. This position will manage a team of HR professionals to provide support in areas such as recruitment, payroll administration, benefits/ retirement administration, employee relations, employee wellness, performance management, and employee development. The HR Manager will serve as a partner to the VP of HR and ensure the development and retention of top talent while ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies. Supervisory Responsibilities: As a leader of people, must possess a continuously improving degree of emotional intelligence to coach, develop, and inspire direct reports to meet their fullest job responsibilities of offering a stellar internal and external member experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop the HR team to deliver high-quality services and support across the organization.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, providing coaching and performance management to ensure continuous professional growth.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring effective and timely delivery of HR services.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork within the HR department and across all departments.
Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and training processes to ensure the credit union attracts and retains top talent.
Lead the development and execution of recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for open positions.
Oversee talent management processes, including employee engagement, retention, and succession planning.
Ensure job descriptions, salary structures, and performance evaluation processes are current and aligned with organizational needs.
Partner with department heads to understand staffing needs and ensure a positive candidate and employee experience.
Manage employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Oversee performance management processes, including setting performance standards, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvement plans.
Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including policies, procedures, and labor relations.
Facilitate ongoing communication between management and staff to enhance engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Oversee the administration of employee compensation, payroll, benefits, and recognition programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner, in coordination with payroll law.
Develop and manage an employee wellness program.
Develop and oversee employee training and development programs to enhance skills and leadership capabilities.
Work with managers to identify training needs and develop programs to address skill gaps.
Promote career development and succession planning initiatives to ensure internal growth and development.
Ensure that the credit union’s culture of continuous learning is embedded in all training programs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and internal policies, including those related to equal employment opportunities, workplace safety, and employee rights.
Oversee audits and ensure the integrity of HR data and records. Serve as the credit union’s lead on HR compliance matters and proactively address any HR-related risks.

Knowledge and Skills:
Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop HR professionals.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on employee engagement and retention.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applications.
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in managing employee relations, recruitment, talent management, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with employees at all levels.

Physical Requirements:
Position is mostly sedentary activity for approximately seven (7) hours per day. Must have the ability to bend, stoop, walk, or climb stairs up to one (1) hour per day. Must have the ability to lift, transfer or move up to 15 lbs. of equipment, supplies, or other materials.
