Job Description
We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join a dynamic company in the Baltimore, Maryland! As an HR Manager, you will oversee the routine functions of the human resources department, including employee relations, talent acquisition, strategic planning, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and resolve employee issues and conflicts, ensuring respectful, fair, and equitable treatment of all staff members.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage the hiring and onboarding process, and collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for job openings.
• Partner with the leadership team to predict, understand, design, and execute the credit union’s talent strategy, particularly in relation to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Research, analyze, and develop recommendations based on the examination of human resource policies and employment practices.
• Advise and train leaders at all levels in best employee relations practices and strategies for resolving problems, and identify training needs.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, review and update job descriptions and policies/procedures to maintain compliance.
• Directly oversee Human Resources Generalists and Talent Acquisition Specialists, and ensure the team’s ability to perform work duties accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Human Resources role
• Strong understanding and experience in compliance within the HR field
• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve employee relations
• Proven skills in leadership development
• Experience in talent management, including acquisition, development, and retention strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in HR software and tools
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Detail-oriented certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
