We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Visalia, California. As an integral part of our team, your role will revolve around the maintenance of Utility Billing records, account information, and handling various accounting tasks.


Responsibilities:


• Efficiently process customer credit applications and ensure their accuracy

• Manage and maintain accurate Utility Billing records and account information

• Post customer payments to the appropriate accounts in a timely manner

• Verify the accuracy of bills and payments, and conduct research into minor discrepancies

• Prepare, coordinate, and oversee the mailing of monthly utility bills

• Balance cash drawer with receipt transactions and prepare deposits as required

• Promptly receive and process payments and accounts receivable

• Assist with payroll and accounts payable processes when necessary

• Maintain and reconcile a variety of records and reports.

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Demonstrated expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger functions
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation is a plus
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
