Job Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist. This opportunity is fully onsite in NW Portland. Your primary focus will be to assist in managing accounts, processing orders, and reconciling financial data.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the processing of sales orders and invoicing to ensure accurate financial records
• Review and reconcile daily inventory transactions and month-end inventory postings
• Manage the flow and processes of accounts payable documents
• Process accounts payable invoices and credit memos on a daily basis
• Conduct weekly check runs for accounts payable
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
• Process annual 1099's and prepare post pre-paid accruals as well as AP month-end journal entries
• Review and reconcile job-specific and other assigned balance sheet accounts and provide explanations for related P& L account variances
• Back up accounts receivable and review EDI systems data flow and postings
• Conduct sales tax reconciliation and examine and verify bank statements and reconcile statements with internal ledgers
• Serve as a back-up for accounts receivable and vendor correspondence and perform other special assignments or administrative functions as assigned.
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions is required for this role.• Must have experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• A strong understanding of Billing Functions is essential.
• Experience with Sage 100 software is needed.
• The candidate should be well-versed in GAAP Accounting.
• Knowledge of Sales Tax procedures is necessary.
• Vendor Management skills are also required for this position.
