Job Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of our organization's accounting operations, ensuring we comply with financial regulations, and spearheading strategic financial initiatives. You will play a vital role in preserving the financial integrity of our organization by leading in financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute accounting strategies in line with the organization’s overall objectives.
• Collaborate with the executive team to deliver financial insights that back strategic decision-making.
• Deliver financial updates and insights to the Board of Directors and executive team.
• Supervise the creation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements.
• Guarantee compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct external audits and coordinate responses to audit findings.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the reliability of financial information.
• Review and enhance accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, promoting a high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and manage the organization’s budget.
• Deliver detailed financial forecasts and analysis to support decision-making.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of accounting systems and technologies.
• Ensure the integration of accounting systems with other business operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and regulators.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess financial risks and opportunities during organizational restructuring or expansions.
• Provide strategic guidance on the financial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Oversee the transition and onboarding of accounting functions for new departments or organizational units.
• Evaluate and refine financial policies to ensure consistency across all divisions post-merger or expansion.
• Manage training and development programs to align newly integrated teams with corporate accounting standards and practices.
