Accounting Manager
Located in Oriskany, NY
Temp to Hire or Direct hire
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay rate: $25.00 to $28.00
Seeking Accounting Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment with comfortability in setting the pace rather than awaiting direction. The Accounting Manager must understand accounting principles, have exceptional time management, communication and problem-solving skills. The Account Manager will be responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports, and overseeing accounting operation
Accounting Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for performing various general ledger accounting activities including but not limited to journal entries, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and expense account reviews.
- Administers internal control review & compliance activities to include tracking necessary support and assisting in review of controls in accordance with company & internal and external audit requirements, indirect taxes and government reporting.
- Assist with month-end close, including performing account reconciliations, recording standard and non-standard journal entries, etc. at the direction of the Controller .
- Assist as needed with Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other finance areas.
- Support the Controller with financial operations infrastructure transformation including ERP improvements, treasury systems, accounts payable and payroll automation.
- Supports the Controller in providing technical accounting guidance on financial transactions and ensures accounting positions taken are fully supported by the relevant accounting guidance.
- Actively engages in system improvement initiatives to support the company’s strategic business objectives to grow the business.
- Monthly account reconciliations & reconciliations to parent company reporting systems.
- Accounting oversight of manufacturing environment controls, Bill of Materials, master data integrity, inventory control, end of period transaction cutoff, reconciliations of subledgers to the general ledger
- Actively engages & collaborates across business units including sales, marketing, supply chain and production operations to ensure cross functional alignment on business objectives.
Requirements
- Proficient in ERP systems
- Bachelor's degree (accounting) with at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with various tax filings (Sales & Use and property) strongly preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA license preferred but not required.
