The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support and driving continuous improvement for production products and manufacturing processes. This role will collaborate cross-functionally within MANN+HUMMEL's organization, working closely with Sales, Quality, Operations, Planning, and the Engineering and R&D teams.
Main Tasks
- Provide engineering support and drive continuous improvement initiatives on production products and processes.
- Serve as the primary resource for 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
- Design, identify, and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and automation solutions.
- Assist Product Engineering with failure analysis and change implementation.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and instructions.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement and Automation teams to improve automation processes.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts on existing products.
- Support product launches and provide plant support for various projects as needed.
- Troubleshoot production process failures and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze and maintain routings for product assembly processes.
- Work with Quality to enhance product quality, establish inspection criteria, and facilitate ongoing product improvement.
- Apply lean principles to effectively lead projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly through verbal and written means, including persuasive presentations to diverse audiences.
- Train and mentor future key resources.
- Maintain organization and strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through skills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Textiles, or Industrial Engineering).
- 1-3 years of experience in a relevant engineering role (preferred).
- Lean certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor software.
- Experience working in manufacturing environments and collaborating across various departments (preferred).
- Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to make persuasive technical presentations to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and processes.
- Effective troubleshooting skills to address production process failures and implement corrective actions.
- Solid understanding of lean principles and their application in process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation and instructions.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with Quality, Sales, R&D, and other departments.
- Capability to train and mentor future key resources within the organization.
