Job Summary

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to determine appropriate methods and develop processes to ensure safety, quality, cost, and efficiency. This position will troubleshoot problems with production and take corrective action. The manufacturing engineer will lead, recommend, and implement activities and programs to increase capability, improve operational efficiency and/or improve product quality. Programs may involve the identification and acquisition of new equipment, modifications to existing equipment or changes to processes and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the manufacture of ARA's Roll-to-Roll inkjet printing process and associated processes to produce printed electronic products.
  • Work closely with program managers technical resources, and quality and supply resources and production team members to perform "Design for Manufacturability", (DFM) "Design for Assembly" (DFA) and "Design of Experiment" (DOE) effort to develop and produce ARA's printed electronic products.
  • Design, develop, and specify fixtures, tooling, and equipment including coordinating with internal procurement and engineering as well as with external suppliers and vendors to purchase the equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve customer quality issues related to manufacturing process.
  • Optimize process yield and productivity through continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist technical and quality resources to develop, update and implement standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions (WI) for existing and new production processes as required.
  • Work with Production Manager to identify and lead implementation of new and enhanced printed electronic manufacturing and testing capabilities.
  • Participate in New Product Development process by defining, developing equipment needs and leading projects to modify or introduce new processes to deliver new and improved products.
  • Perform, take time, and cycle time studies and define, develop, and improve production efficiencies and expand manufacturing capabilities.

Experience and Skills

In compliance with federal law, all person hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification from upon hire.
  • 3-5 Years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Act as a liaison cross-departmentally verifying customer configuration matches documents and making necessary changes before starting production.
  • Experience with roll-to-roll, inkjet, adhesive, extrusion, or thin film coating experience.
  • Experience with programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Ability to successfully multiple manage projects simultaneously delivering within scope, on time, and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
  • Experience with mechanical and /or electrical design, preventative maintenance. programs, and machine shop practices.
  • Experience with CAD and SolidWorks.
  • Six Sigma Certification is desired, but not required.
  • Familiar with CRM systems and practices.
Education
  • BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant background
