What You’ll Do

  1. Sales Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and execute a national retail sales strategy for both the JUST and GOOD brands, focusing on increased distribution, market share, and revenue growth across grocery, specialty, and mass retail channels.
  2. Lead, mentor, and develop a small but dynamic retail sales team, consistently hitting or exceeding sales objectives and KPIs.
  3. Identify and capitalize on new retail opportunities and partnerships to expand presence and penetration in key markets.
  4. Retail Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including national grocery chains, specialty retailers, and e-commerce platforms.
  5. Manage relationships with broker partners, ensuring seamless communication through an integrated retail tracker.
  6. Oversee submissions, reviews and account management for the top-30 retailers.
  7. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional terms to maximize profitability and brand visibility.
  8. Collaborate with category managers and buyers to drive in-store activations, merchandising, and promotional initiatives.
  9. Work closely with Sales Operations to ensure timely deliveries and minimize out-of-stock challenges.
  10. Market Analysis & Insights:
Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify retail trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities for growth within the plant-based and CPG sectors.
  11. Leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions related to pricing, promotions, and product placement.
  12. Continuously monitor sales performance and refine strategies to stay ahead in the evolving retail landscape.
  13. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales goals with broader company objectives.
  14. Collaborate on marketing campaigns, in-store promotions, and product launches, to ensure cohesive brand representation.
  15. Provide actionable feedback to product development and leadership based on retail trends and consumer demands.
  16. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Own the retail sales P&L, including managing budgets, trade spend, and forecasts to meet financial targets.
  17. Prepare and present sales forecasts, budget reports, and performance reviews to senior leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail sales, preferably in the natural or plant-based industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams.
  3. Proven track record of driving sales growth and building relationships with major retailers.
  4. Deep knowledge of the retail landscape, including grocery, mass market, and specialty channels.
  5. Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  7. Passion for our mission to revolutionize plant-based foods.
