Your Job
Come join us at Molex as a Global Demand Planner!
You will be the owner of Demand Forecast for assigned products, responsible for generating and driving the Global Unconstrained Demand Forecast, incorporating Business Projection from Product Management, Sales, and your own analysis. Collaborate with internal/external customers to provide the most educated and trustworthy short and long-term (1-24 month) forecast to the Supply Team with Value Creation/Profitability and Forecast Accuracy in mind. Be able to explain to management and internal customers where the Forecast gaps are coming from when they fluctuate. Understand marketing and sales activities, adjusting forecasts accordingly to minimize excess inventory (Finished Goods and raw materials). Working closely with the Supply Planning Team, understand where the shortfall in supply is against our forecast, ensuring necessary actions are identified and taken in advance to accommodate our future demand.
What You Will Do
Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used to develop the best possible mid to long-term demand forecasts. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, self-develop statistical forecast models for DF judgment purposes, and evaluate forecast results. Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions. Interact with sales, marketing, and product managers to understand demand forecast drivers. Load/validate updated demand forecasts to the appropriate demand management working environment (Kinaxis Rapid Response) by the foreseen cadence using historical Bookings, statistical output, OEM forecasts where available, market trends and information, forecasts provided by sales engineers, and actual customer firm and forecast figures recorded in Rapid Response. For any part number transitions where forecast and actual should be combined, provide part number and site detail and apply supersession treatment. Ensure any changes to customer master data (Sold to customer mapping, Product Segmentation classification, etc.) are communicated to the appropriate Master Data Coordinator regularly to ensure all reports reflect the most current business organization. Conduct analysis to identify the cause of forecast error and drive continuous improvement in demand predictability. Use KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) of your portfolio to ensure continual improvement. Use calculations of Forecast Accuracy, Comet charts, and Month over month reporting to make improvements in future forecasts. Monitor and elevate key management issues (capacity constraints, customer hurt, etc.) to stakeholders (Sales and Supply planners) connected for specified areas of the business. Proactively support Demand Planning management to ensure ongoing commitment. Engage with Product and Project managers to consider EOL phase and new products/ramp-up phases. Drive utilization and/or selection of forecast/demand planning methodology, process, and software. Drive process improvements contributing to the reduction of forecast error and bias. Execute with excellence in the area of customer replenishment and provide feedback to the Supply Chain groups about opportunities and risks regarding customer replenishment performance metrics. Ability to lead meetings with members of Senior Management. Ability to lead change in the organization. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
