As a member of the Specialty Vehicle Business Unit senior leadership team and the HR Leadership Team, the Sr. Director, Human Resources oversees the deployment of the human resources strategy across the business. Provides strategic leadership and guidance to senior business leadership related to the implementation and management of the workforce strategy in respective business areas. Manages the delivery of HR programs and value-added solutions to the business unit in the areas of organization and leadership development, talent attraction and retention, change management, workforce planning, succession management, diversity and inclusion, and contributor engagement. Leads an HR team, leverages and collaborates with the Dorman Corporate HR COE’s and is accountable for setting and ensuring high qualities and standards for HR service delivery. #SuperATV
Primary Duties
Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior leaders of the Specialty Vehicle Business Unit.
Work collaboratively with other Dorman Business Units and the Corporate HR Operations and Centers of Excellence teams to ensure a seamless, integrated HR experience.
Develop and administer all HR initiatives and strategies for assigned area.
Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development for direct reports.
Lead HR function in M&A projects with added focus on open communication, policy and system integration, change management, and key employee retention.
Develop and implement Contributor experience strategies and tactics in alignment with Specialty Vehicle Business Unit objectives and achievement of enterprise-wide goals.
Influence and lead organizational change.
Manage Specialty Vehicle Business Unit HR operating and fringe budgets.
Use data and metrics to influence and drive business results.
In conjunction with Talent Acquisition, develop a strategic approach to attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent.
Assess needs and design plans related to change management, succession planning, and contributor development initiatives. Partners with Talent Management to execute initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
10+ years HR Business Partner experience with 3+ years leadership experience
Experience working in a distribution, manufacturing, or other industrial environments
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles, and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution
Proficient in talent acquisition and development concepts, principles, and practices related to employee selection, career development, succession planning, and strategic workforce forecasting
Proficient in performance management concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, monitoring, rating, and rewarding employee performance
Strong knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices related to employee health benefits, retirement, workers compensation, and other benefits programs
Strong understanding of compensation concepts, principles, and practices
Strong ability to work with contributors at all levels of the organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing multi-site teams.
