Summary You will serve as a Supply Technician (HAZMAT) in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will maintain automated inventory records by conducting periodic inventories of HM (Hazardous material); ensures all stock records are accurate and local database (N-ERP) records match against other databases records. You will physically handle HM (Hazardous Material) through the use of all types of material handling equipment and transports vehicles available to the HM workforce. You will perform mathematical computations while conducting research to validate the accuracy of data collected; monitor of usage data and researched changes in trends to ensure proper stock levels are maintained. You will perform Authorized User List processing, validating, and maintenance functions, item establishment/ removal, stock replenishment, customer order processing, and outstanding container management. You will perform technical screening on all requested materials to ensure materials meet customer requirements as well as ensuring materials are environmentally complaint. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing Hazmat supply activities. Examples of specialized experience include some or all of the following: 1) Applying knowledge of supply and hazardous material management regulations, policies, methods and procedures to perform a wide assortment of supply transactions, inventory management, and/or warehouse functions; 2) Requisition materials including HAZMAT using automated supply systems; 3) Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 4) Provide customers with information on the proper handling of hazardous material; 5) Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in regards to HAZMAT related materials and processing of customer requests for hazardous materials. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions. This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585. This is a bargaining unit position.
