Collegiate Hotel Group is seeking an
Area Director of People & Culture
to lead and manage aspects of People Resource activities for a group of hotels. This position is 100% remote with some travel.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Balance and prioritize the operational people and culture needs across multiple properties while driving P&C responsibilities, initiatives, and programs Serve as a policy expert to assist property leaders in adherence to company policies, processes, and practices. Develop and manage relationships with property leadership team members in order to support positive associate relations while providing coaching and development, as needed. Manage and resolve complex team member relations issues in partnership with the General Manager and the Regional Director of P&C. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Assist property with tracking training compliance, making sure that all team members receive all mandatory training and certifications. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of team members, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Administer the company's annual review process per established guidelines. Ensure managers are properly trained and guided on all compliance-related matters including payroll, leave of absence, workers comp, recruiting, etc. Partner with property leaders on recruitment strategy, including posting positions on different career websites, partnerships, etc. Leverage relationships with the local workforce and other talent resources to build and maintain strong talent pools. Provide consultation and guidance for all team member's status changes including but not limited to promotions, pay changes, status changes, transfers, leaves of absence, and separations. Ensure proper and timely handling of all unemployment claims. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Regional Director of People and Culture/ Regional Vice President of People and Culture to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Provide properties with resources to execute recognition and engagement activities. Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in hospitality, human resources or business administration preferred Over 3 years' experience leading People and Culture/Human resources in hospitality or related field Proven experience navigating employee relations High proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and deep understanding of all aspects of human resources and hotel operations Knowledge, understanding, and comfort training others, facilitating programs/presentations, and public speaking internally and externally Strong conflict management and consultation skills Managerial courage and proven ability to partner with and support leadership Builds morale and spirit while instilling an industry-leading guest service attitude in all team member Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills "Hands-on" leadership approach to management and team development Ability to maintain strict confidentiality BENEFITS/ PERKS
