Location: New York, NY
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of a premier hospitality venue in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant or hospitality management, with the ability to oversee operations, manage teams, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This individual will assist in leading the staff, optimizing operations, and contributing to the venue’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and high standards in food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
- Team Management: Support recruitment, training, and performance management of front-of-house and back-of-house staff. Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and growth.
- Guest Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional guest experiences by overseeing service delivery, handling guest feedback, and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Financial Oversight: Help manage the venue’s financial performance by tracking budgets, controlling costs, managing labor and food costs, and contributing to financial reporting.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are adhered to, maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment for both guests and staff.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective stock management.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing private events, group reservations, and special promotions to increase brand visibility and drive revenue.
- Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with the management team to implement marketing campaigns and promotions to boost business and guest engagement.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume service while maintaining excellent standards.
- Solid understanding of financial management, including budget oversight, cost control, and performance analysis.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Experience with inventory management and vendor relations.
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest service and hospitality.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
