The Birth Certificate Specialist demonstrates professionalism and expertise in gathering information from the new parents (married, unwed, American, or of other ethnic background) and the medical record needed to complete the birth certificate. As a notary public, the birth certificate specialist may notarize legal documents, as well as living wills and powers of attorney, for Erlanger Health System.

The Birth Certificate Specialist demonstrates professionalism and expertise in gathering information from the new parents (married, unwed, American, or of other ethnic background and the medical record needed to complete the birth certificate. Each specialist will keep current with updated state and federal laws regarding birth certificates and the acknowledgment of paternity. All birth record totals will be current with that of the Medical Records Department and the state. Births, as well as all infant deaths will be reported to the state as required. As a notary public, the birth certificate specialist may notarize legal documents, as well as living wills and powers of attorney, for Erlanger Health System. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficiency required. Demonstrates sound judgment and organization ability. Must maintain records with accuracy.
