Summary:
The Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) Vice President of Finance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of VBG’s financial options, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, reporting, risk management, and strategic financial decision-making. This role will work closely with the CEO and other leadership to align financial strategies with overall business goals. Essential Functions: Develop and manage VBG’s financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to identify potential risks and opportunities. Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Evaluate potential investment opportunities and manage VBG’s capital structure. Identify and mitigate financial risk across the organization, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. Manage and develop a team of finance professionals. Collaborate with senior leadership to make strategic financial decisions aligned with overall company goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize cost-control measures and improve financial efficiency. Qualifications or Competency: Extensive knowledge of financial management regulations, accounting principles, and financial markets. Proven ability to lead and manage a finance team. Demonstrated ability to think critically about the financial implications of business decisions and contribute to strategic planning. Expertise in financial software and systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is mandatory. MBA preferred. CPA preferred. Minimum 10 years experience in a senior management role, ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience in a high-growth organization. Travel: Periodic travel for offsite training or meetings may be required.
