This position is located in Prescott, AZ and is not available for remote work or relocation.

We are Canyon AeroConnect - located in Prescott, Arizona, for the past 50 years. Canyon stands as one of the world's leading suppliers of avionic-standard aircraft communications, navigation and audio/intercom systems. Canyon's products have been widely adopted and proven in-service across a wide range of civilian, paramilitary and military fixed-wing and rotorcraft applications.

Over the years, we've become known as the benchmark in aircraft tactical communication and audio equipment for Air Ambulance, Law Enforcement, SAR, EMS, Electronic News Gathering, Military and Marine applications. Products include digital and analog radio/audio management systems, Tac/Com, VHF/UHF radio systems, intercoms, data interface accessories, and aural warning.

The successful candidate will join the team as an entry level Assembler I and will have the opportunity to grow with Canyon AeroConnect. Canyon provides excellent training, and this could be the beginning to a long-term career path. The manufacturing team is responsible for the assembly of new avionics equipment including airborne radios for communication and navigation, airborne servers, audio control panels, audio management units, and other avionics instrumentation.

This position is responsible for assembly work in an ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) manufacturing environment. The person works under supervision as part of our manufacturing team.

Individual must be able to meet all minimum standards within 90 days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Records appropriate information in hand-written or electronic form.
  • Responsible for inspection of piece parts (quality, right value, correct size, etc.), and quality of solder joints, wire wraps, wire dressing, etc.).
  • Assembles in accordance with verbal, written, and visual instructions.
  • Able to assemble electronic assigned work using miniature and sub-miniature hand tools, large and small-soldering irons, bending and holding fixtures and crimping tools, both hand and automatic.
  • Required to make proper parts orientation - using symbols marked on certain components. Proper orientation to be determined by sample unit or written instructions.
  • Meets or exceeds company standards for quality and output.
  • Comply and uphold Canyon AeroConnect EH&S policies and standards.
  • Comply with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Level I - Entry (Inexperienced)
  • KNOWLEDGE -Little or no knowledge of the job. Moderate understanding of general aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • SKILL-Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • COMPLEXITY-Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
  • DISCRETION/LATTITUDE- Works under close supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE-High School diploma (or equivalent) and no previous work experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Tasks involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects or materials (20-30 lbs.)
  • Exposure to noise and chemicals
  • May be required to pass eye tests and correct vision to acceptable standards
