Position Summary
Responsible for growing business and generating sales by identifying, developing, and capturing federal contracting opportunities with the U.S. Department of Defense, Space Force, U.S. intelligence communities, and other military and industry customers. Interfaces effectively to build strong relationships with current and potential client decision-makers and gatekeepers. Coordinates with support staff to maintain deep and current awareness of market developments.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic & Tactical Planning & Execution
Develops and executes strategic capture plans focused on USG intelligence community (IC) opportunities, in alignment with Airbus U.S. space business goals.
Turns strategy into action; shapes opportunities, builds pipelines, and secures new business through strong relationships with customers.
Plans and builds network of key customer and industry contacts to manage awareness of potential opportunities.
Serves as an internal resource for industry and market intelligence and keeps management apprised of changing trends, competitive intelligence, and other economic indicators.
Attends relevant industry events and workshops to build powerful market presence for Airbus U.S. as a thought leader within the industry.
Develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market surveys, white papers, presentations, briefings, and customer demonstrations.
Manages campaign resources and executes successful campaigns leading to meaningful and measurable revenue.
Tracks and measures campaign team performance, maintaining accurate and up to date CRM records.
Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing team in creating product collateral and marketing material.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering/science related field or equivalent experience required. MBA or Master's degree preferred.
Experience: 12+ years' experience in the space industry and/or geospatial intelligence arena, with a minimum of 10 years related to business development, capture, or new business technical solutions. Minimum of 5 years' experience interacting with key USG decision makers in the space and/or intelligence communities. Demonstrated record of sustained sales growth; tangible results from leading successful campaign and capture leading to sales. Experience with space force community programs and requirements development, non-traditional contracting practices, FARS acquisition processes, contract life cycle sustainment, and post-proposal customer satisfaction activities.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Currency and depth of knowledge of the space and small satellite industries. Currency and depth of knowledge of geospatial intelligence and sensor markets, applications, and associated technologies. Strong industry reputation and established connections in U.S. government and industry. Deep business development, program management and/or technical engineering background. Established relationships with U.S. military, civilian, intelligence, space community customers and executives preferred. Ability to prioritize and focus. Familiarity with and ability to communicate about space systems. Strategic thinking, problem solving and solution development. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management. Excellent leadership and management skills. Ability to act independently and decisively. Manage assignments and deadlines effectively. Ability to assess business landscapes and develop strategic business approaches. Professional with a high degree of integrity.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Effective verbal communication skills. Ability to present clear and concise reports to customers and executives. Ability to design effective, professional presentation materials. Effective collaboration, mentorship, and management skills.
Technical Systems Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office, project management, and CRM tools.
Travel Required: Up to 75% travel required
Eligibility: U.S. citizenship required.
Clearance: Possesses an active DoD security clearance at the Secret level, or higher Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level clearance; SCI desirable
