Position Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in overseeing all financial operations of the health center. This includes strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and funding requirements. The CFO will work closely with the executive leadership team, board of directors, and department heads to ensure the health centers financial health and sustainability. This is a key leadership position within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and implement the financial strategy to support the health centers mission, growth, and sustainability. Lead the overall financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and stakeholders. Provide detailed analysis to guide decision-making and ensure financial stability. Budgeting and Cost Management:
Manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads. Monitor performance against the budget and recommend adjustments as needed to meet organizational goals. Cash Flow and Investment Management:
Ensure the health center maintains a healthy cash flow and manages financial risks. Oversee investments and ensure sufficient liquidity to support operations and strategic initiatives. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including federal, state, and local guidelines. Oversee audits and financial reporting for grant management and regulatory bodies. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across departments to support the health centers mission. Grant Management:
Oversee the financial aspects of grants and contracts, ensuring proper allocation, reporting, and compliance with funders' requirements. Operational Efficiency:
Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and streamline processes. Drive initiatives that support cost-effective, high-quality care across all service lines. Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree or CPA preferred). Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (CFO or similar) in a nonprofit or healthcare setting. Experience with managed care plans (required) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience preferred. Strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including grant and funding compliance, and healthcare reimbursement systems. Proven experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and managing complex financial systems in a multi-service healthcare environment. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, government funding, and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB). Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Experience with financial software, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay- $220k- $250k
