The Role The Growth Development Director reports to the Chief Executive Officer, tasked as a member of the senior leadership team to create a sustainable financial foundation to advance the values, culture, and services of Questscope. We seek a well-connected, highly energetic, emotionally insightful, and intellectually courageous person to attract new donors and cultivate current donors in co-creative partnerships that increase the capacity of Questscope for innovation and sustained impact with marginalized groups and individuals. Responsibilities To advance the generosity of a diverse range of donors/partners for innovative, “game-changing” achievements in putting the last first; To establish beneficial networks and robust support systems that support effective cooperation between donors and Questscope; To tell the story of Questscope to amplify the trustworthiness and appeal of Questscope “brand” as a basis for marketing and communication strategies grounded in evidence of impact; To build out the institutional capacity of Questscope’s development team. Advancing Generosity Identify, design for, cultivate, and gain access to diverse philanthropic revenue streams – to accelerate collaboration with globally minded individuals, multicultural-minded churches and mosques, and corporations/foundations – emphasizing evidence of impact of transformation of people, institutions, and systems. Create both long-term and annual strategies alongside the CEO to achieve each year’s funding targets in a way that coincides with larger, multi-year funding goals. Cultivate active donor community hubs - networks for donors to envision together – promoting mutual learning and communication that strengthen donors’ roles as assets in co-creating impact meaningful to them. Build hands-on, “high-touch” donor experiences within Questcope contexts that include events, trips, media experiences, webinars, storytelling (both donor and beneficiary), and opportunities for thought leadership. Facilitate board members’ abilities to capitalize on their unique contributions of effort, insight, and experience that enhance Questscope’s ability to solicit significant large gifts and to confirm fulfillment of donors’ generous intentions. Build and maintain a portfolio of large donors (in excess of $10K p.a) with the expectation of not only stewarding existing donors but also prospecting new donors to significantly grow Questscope’s donor base over the next three years. Create a planned giving/legacy program; Establishing Networks and Systems Implement Donor Engagement Process across Questscope to manage donor discovery, identification, qualification, cultivation, negotiation, solicitation, and stewardship. Assign and manage a portfolio of donors for the CEO, collaboratively working to ensure that all major donors that need regular relational connection with the CEO are engaged. Steward, maintain, and report on all philanthropic sources, ensuring relevant tracking of outcomes to understand impact and make strategic decisions. Maintain/improve donor database with detailed call reports and automated reports on gift history, reminders for stewardship steps, and reminders on project or focus interests for donors on potential projects (donor segmentation) on regional, thematic, or cost descriptors. Manage the fundraising budget for the most benefit for the least cost. Telling the Story This entails solid teamwork in partnership with the Communications Manager (position currently vacant). Partner with the communication manager to position and tell our story, create assets and materials compelling for each audience segment, emphasizing storytelling by beneficiaries/clients, and continually expressing gratitude and appreciation to donors and friends.
