Position Overview: The Executive Director of Ambulatory Nursing leads several distinct departments or sub-functions that significantly impact organization planning and operations; or leads a business line with significant revenue impact; or integrates and coordinates the operations of a major business unit. Minimum Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing - BSN (Required) Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, or other related field (Preferred) Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive related experience (Required) 7 years supervisory/management experience in related job function (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge: Expertise in the area of specialty. Strong knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Expertise in department budget and interpersonal communication. Functional Accountabilities: Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate assigned departments on a strategic and operational level to ensure the organization’s move to Top Tier and Employer of Choice. Improve, build, maintain, and report on achievement of access goals, clinic efficiency, family and staff satisfaction. Develop a communication strategy and tool to ensure the effective communication of all department programs to CNMC management and staff. Monitor department processes and seek opportunities to improve operations. Collaborate with Executive Director of Ambulatory Service, Specialty, Primary Care Clinics, and Physician Offices to enhance services. Program and Service Administration and Implementation: Implement strategic plan through management of operations within individual departments and coordination of inter-departmental/cross-functional operations. Ensure compliance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures, and regulatory standards. Ensure the availability and quality of data to support senior leadership decision-making. Human Resources and Relationship Management: Assess and monitor organizational staffing requirements and align departments to effectively and efficiently meet organizational needs. Define, set, and utilize appropriate performance and quality measures for the departments and for individual staff members. Budget and Financial Management: Prepare the department/service budget in keeping with CNMC mission and vision and implement based on department/service goals and objectives. Evaluate financial performance reports, develop financial plans accordingly with the department/service directors, managers, and supervisors, and assist in the execution of the financial plan. Performance Improvement/Research/Quality: Contribute to developing systems supporting standards of clinical practice. Ensure extended campus and SZ clinics use continuous improvement methods to improve care outcomes. Staff Development: Ensure staff development and education plans based on identified data and trends and initiate programs for improving performance within the department/service. Identify opportunities for developing department staff to enhance professional/technical development for increased job satisfaction. Professional Nursing Practice: Lead and advocate for strengthening nursing practice in the executive nurse leader role for ambulatory. Participate in community activities to enhance professional nursing and collaborative practice.
