A law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience, demonstrate a strong background in patent litigation, and possess outstanding academic credentials. Preference will be given to candidates with law firm experience and a technical degree, especially those with an aptitude for handling cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields.
Duties:
- Handle a variety of intellectual property litigation cases, with a focus on patents
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and technical experts to understand complex scientific concepts
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Participate in and prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and legal advice
- Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys
- Analyze and assess the merits of intellectual property claims and defenses
- Stay abreast of developments in intellectual property law and relevant scientific fields
- Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes
Requirements:
- Experience in intellectual property litigation
- Preference for candidates with law firm experience
- Technical degree preferred, with an aptitude for cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Patent litigation experience is required
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Technical degree (preferred)
Certifications:
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction
Skills:
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Ability to understand and work with complex scientific and technical concepts
- Superior written and oral communication skills
