A law firm is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience, demonstrate a strong background in patent litigation, and possess outstanding academic credentials. Preference will be given to candidates with law firm experience and a technical degree, especially those with an aptitude for handling cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields.

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of intellectual property litigation cases, with a focus on patents
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and technical experts to understand complex scientific concepts
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Participate in and prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and legal advice
  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys
  • Analyze and assess the merits of intellectual property claims and defenses
  • Stay abreast of developments in intellectual property law and relevant scientific fields
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes

Requirements:

  • Experience in intellectual property litigation
  • Preference for candidates with law firm experience
  • Technical degree preferred, with an aptitude for cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • Patent litigation experience is required
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Technical degree (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and work with complex scientific and technical concepts
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and presenting legal arguments
