About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive IT Asset Management Analyst to join our IT team. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and efficient use of laptops within the organization. The successful candidate will have strong analytical abilities, experience with asset management systems, and a thorough understanding of inventory management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Tracking & Management:
Maintain a precise and up-to-date inventory of all hardware assets. Manage the lifecycle of assets from acquisition to decommissioning, ensuring all data is accurately documented in the asset management system. Collaborate with various departments to ensure asset records are updated promptly and correctly. Procurement & Deployment:
Assist in the procurement process by assessing asset requirements, handling purchase orders, and ensuring assets meet organizational needs. Asset Auditing & Compliance:
Perform regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets to ensure they comply with internal policies and external regulations. Data Reporting & Analysis:
Produce regular reports on asset status, usage, lifecycle, and disposal for management review. Analyze asset utilization and propose strategies for cost optimization, asset consolidation, or end-of-life planning. Security & Disposal:
Ensure all IT assets are securely handled and properly decommissioned, including data wiping from devices. Work closely with the security team to ensure all assets comply with organizational security standards. Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with various departments (IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal) to ensure seamless asset management and resolve any related issues. Provide training and guidance to staff on asset management best practices. Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and enhance processes for asset and inventory management. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy. Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). At least 3 years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or a related field. Proficiency with asset management software (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, Lansweeper, or similar tools). Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and reporting skills. Knowledge of various IT hardware models. Understanding of IT lifecycle management and industry best practices. Familiarity with compliance, IT security protocols, and data protection regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in ITIL, IAITAM, or other relevant areas of asset management. Experience with cloud-based asset management tools, such as Google Apps. Knowledge of industry standards for asset management and auditing (e.g., ISO 19770). Experience in a mid to large, enterprise-level organization.
