Mechanical Assembler

The Mechanical Assembler & Secondary Process Associate will be responsible for performing produced components by assembling mechanical items. Additionally, will do secondary process operations including deburring, polishing, making boxes for packaging and cleaning.
* Prepares work to be accomplished by following written procedures, following verbal instructions, studying assembly instructions, reading blueprint specifications and parts lists (gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials). Must comply with all ISO 9001 procedures.
* Positions parts and subassemblies by using manual dexterity, templates or reading blueprints.
* Assembles components by examining parts for correct fit then fastening item per the requirements.
* Evaluates the assembly during testing by observation, listening and 'feel'.
* Must be able to perform small item assembly and work with parts as small as 2-56 nuts & screws.
* Comfortable inspecting parts under 4X magnification for burrs & damage both "in" and "on" parts.
* Must have a good eyesight with a high attention to detail. Ability to notice burrs, blemishes and damage on part surfaces with the naked eye.
* Perform simple secondary operations with common shop equipment.
* Carefully handle and clean parts using ultrasonic cleaning station.
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Keep jobs and work areas organized and clean.
* Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies and verifying receipt of supplies.
* Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
* Other duties as needed or required.
Job Requirements
* Strong mechanical aptitude.
* Use of basic hand tools.
* Ability to lift and palletize completed product (typically less than 10 lbs. but up to 30 lbs. max)
* Adequate eyesight, hearing and dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities.
* Reading Drawings
* Basic Computer skills
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Previous assembly experience required (2-years)
