About the Job:

The Warehouse Operator will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for safe operation of heavy equipment and to insure timely and accurate warehouse duties. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing warehouse functions to insure timely and accurate reporting of receipts and issues of warehouse stock, and proper physical control of warehouse inventory.
  • The safe and timely transfer and delivery of diesel fuel from port bulk storage to 30K fuel tank using a 4k or 6k fuel truck.
  • Coordinating the movement and staging of containers for various departments in concert with AMT and warehouse utilizing Hyster 700 bull forklift while maintaining accessibility and availability of containers of goods for assorted departments use.
  • Monitoring and replacing camp waste containers as needed.
  • Expediting goods to and from the crew boat daily.
  • The safe exchange of bulk explosives for use UG using H700 bull.
  • The safe and timely transfer of bulk propane as needed during the winter.
  • Communicate and coordinate professionally with warehouse team, AMT, and other mine departments using 2-way radio, telephone, and email.
  • Responsible for performing and completing department objectives and goals.
  • Identify and correct wasteful issues and processes.
  • Responsible for providing professional, timely and courteous service to all mine departments in order to manage the procurement of goods and services for the mine site
  • Employee must perform duties and activities in a manner that conforms to all safety practices and other policies, procedures and standard that are established by the company or required by law
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others
  • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Two years of experience in warehousing functions preferred
  • Inventory control experience preferred
  • Equipment operation experience required
  • Computer experience required
  • Ability to repeatedly lift over 50 lbs
  • Sets high standards for self and others, builds trust and takes accountability
  • Preference given to Alaskan residents
