Job Description:

Tek84 is seeking an Electrical Engineer responsible for electromechanical design, test/verification and support of X-Ray Equipment product lines. A successful candidate will develop, evaluate, and improve products/processes using their knowledge of product design. This position combines hands-on work (prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, fabrication) with accompanying documentation (schematics, layout, assembly drawings, procedures, test reports).

Role / Responsibilities:

  1. Provide electrical testing and support to the Hardware Engineering Group and Operations.
  2. Electromechanical Design:
    1. Cable/Harness Design
    2. Redline Implementation
    3. PWA Schematic / Layout Review
  3. Create/Maintain Schematics, CAD files and Bill of Materials.
  4. Identify/validate alternate parts for production.
  5. Documentation Control (adherence to Engineering Change processes).
  6. Actively work with manufacturing technicians to ensure design is properly implemented and perform testing to ensure design is fully vetted.

Educational Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  2. Knowledge of electronics theory, including electronic components and their functions.

Prior Work Experience:

  1. 1 – 5 years hands-on experience in an Engineering role, working directly with electromechanical systems.
  2. Experience writing technical documentation, drawings, work instructions, test reports, manuals, etc.
  3. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and block diagrams.
  4. Experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems to the component level.
  5. Work in a team environment with manufacturing, software engineering, customer service group.
  6. Experience with motion control systems (desired).

Skills:

  1. Software:
    1. Altium Designer (or similar)
    2. SolidWorks (or similar)
    3. Visual Studio (or similar)
    4. Microsoft Office Suite
  2. Hands On:
    1. Surface Mount Soldering / Electrical Harness / Cable Assembly Fabrication (IPC 610 familiarity)
    2. Test Equipment: Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, etc.
    3. Hand Tools / Machine Shop Familiarity
